Thanksgiving Lunch in Cafeteria 11-19-09

During this lunch only the First and Second Grade Parents will be invited to join us.

Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents will join us for the Christmas Lunch.  Tickets will be sold for these lunches and the cost this year will be $5.00 for each adult, $3.50 for any child not attending Robbins that wishes to eat.  A note will be sent home to further explain ticket purchases.

*PTO #2 is on Dec. 10^th (K and 4^th Grades will perform for PTO at the Clark Community Center, across the street from the school.)

Dismissal

Parents please keep in mind that it will get dark earlier now with the time change. It is very important that students are picked up on time.  Many students still do not know their phone numbers.  Please work on this with your students.

Outerwear

As the weather changes to a cooler temperature, we need to remind the students that if a child needs to keep on a jacket or sweater, it needs to be navy blue. This school uniform has been in effect for the past 3 years, there have not been any changes.   

Hands Off!

Parents, we are consistently giving the students one message when it comes to putting hands on another person: Do Not Do It!  We ask students to tell another adult when anyone inappropriately touches, hits, slaps, etc.  We do not advocate the children fighting for any reason.  Please help us to get this message across to the students.  If your child does not make anyone aware of a situation we cannot address these urgent issues.

Parent Student Compact Conferences

Every 4^th and 5^th Grade parent should be arranging a time to come and speak with the teachers concerning the scores on last spring's ARMT and SAT-10 testing.  We hope to help each child make gains on these tests this year. 

Ticket to Read and Accelerated Reader

We have introduced your child to two wonderful vehicles for increasing reading skills, Ticket to Read and Accelerated Reader.  Be sure to ask your child for his/her password to access either computer program and watch how much fun learning can be.  Has you child completed the required reading for AR yet?  Do you know how many books he/she has read?

PTO Fundraiser

The 2009-2010 Fundraiser will end on this Friday, Nov. 6^th.  Please send the forms and the money to the school by the deadline.  We appreciate the support that the funds from this effort provide as we continue to provide quality experiences for your child.
