Work History
I have enjoyed teaching school in the states of Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee and Alabama. I have taught Kindergarten through Fifth Grades. My favorite subjects to teach are Science, Writing , Reading and Math. I thoroughly enjoy participating in anything that allows hands-on experiences. I have been fortunate in my career to have served as a classroom teacher, Science Lab teacher, regular building substitute, Teacher in Residence at the Exploreum, Writing Coach, Title I Facilitator, Assistant Principal and now, Principal. It goes without saying, I love being an Educator.
Educational Background
I graduated from Bishop Toolen High School and received a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL.
I received my Master's Degree in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, from the University of Detroit, Mercy Campus in Detroit, MI and successfully completed National Board Certification in the category of Middle Childhood Generalist in 2002. I completed Educational Administration Certification at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
Interests / Hobbies
When I have spare time I like sitting on my porch to read and sip coffee, piddle with my plants or listen to music. I look forward to spending time with my husband, three sons and my mother. I enjoy working with the Youth Group at my church.
